Name: Morty

Gender: Male

Estimated Date of Birth: November 3, 2016

Size: 46 lbs

Color: black and white

Morty is a super social and friendly pup. He wiggles and waggles and is a sweet, young boy. We originally rescued him on January 1, 2017. He was recently returned to us for just being a puppy. Sometimes people think they want a puppy but realize that they really don't want that much responsibility.

We're happy to take this fella back. Morty's looking for a forever home with a canine or human sibling or two. Morty is good at reading social cues from other dogs and does well in doggy daycare too. He rides well in a car, needs some practice walking on a leash, and he would do well in a home with some structure and routine.

Hi everybody! I've got a new harness and have been working on my leash manners. We're getting ready to start my treatment and my foster mom says the hardest part is going to be keeping me calm post-treatment. I love practicing leash walking so it's a win/win for me!!!!

Thanks for donating to my fundraiser. I think I may be going home with a potential adopter after my initial heart worm treatment. I'm excited but kinda scared. I don't know what to expect with my treatment but I've been following Seva's treatment so I know I will have a couple of bad days. I have a canine brother in my potential adoptive home so we're going to do an extended foster-to-adopt trial and gradually integrate me in the new home as I'm medically fit.

Morty and Max 061218.jpg

Good morning everyone!

I started my treatment yesterday. I got to spend the night with my friends at VCA Beech Grove for observation and tonight I go home with my new family. You see over the past couple of weeks I've meet my new, potential brother, Max and we hit it off!

Dr. A says that when I go home tonight I have to remain calm - for 30 days! That might be impossible for me :) but we'll see. So, I've had a couple of play dates with Max to get our initial play/intros out of the way while I feel good. Thanks for your support. I can't wait to settle in with my new family! Stay tuned.
