We are excited to participate in IUPUI's Regatta this year. We will have current Adoptabulls Ace and Millie out walking the canal to meet everyone during the event. Hopefully these two lucky pups will find their forever homes this Fall!
Meet Ace between 10a-12p & Millie between 12p-2p!
IUPUI and the Student Organization for Alumni Relations (SOAR) plans IUPUI Regatta on the Downtown Indianapolis canal each year in late September. Established in 2009, the IUPUI Regatta has quickly become a signature event for the IUPUI campus. The purpose of the event is to create a high-energy campus tradition that involves both the campus and Indianapolis community while benefiting an IUPUI student scholarship.
The IUPUI Regatta consists of a half-mile canoe relay competition involving teams of up to six IUPUI students, faculty/staff, and alumni beginning at Fairbanks Hall at the north end of the canal, traveling down to the USS Indianapolis basin, and then back to complete the half mile leg. The Regatta also has exciting events designed to entertain children of all ages — clowns, face painters, and live entertainment from Indianapolis area bands make this festive event a can’t miss experience.
Canoe races occur on the north end of the downtown canal between 11th Street and St. Clair Street.
General event parking is available at the northeast corner of 11th Street and Senate Avenue. 10th Street will be closed to traffic during Regatta.
General event parking is located in the IU Health lot at the northeast corner of Senate and 11th Streets. Access to the parking lot is available on both 11th Street and 12th Street. Note that 10th Street (one-way Eastbound) is closed to through traffic. Traffic should divert to 16th Street, St. Clair Street, or New York Street for access to Senate Street.
